Roles & Responsibilities:
Sr. Quality Inspector Piping,Welding & NDT
Experience in leading / managing a multi-cultural team of QC personnel of various disciplines (Piping, Mechanical, Structural, Coating/Painting, Sub-sea and Offshore) for various projects as a team leader.
Excellent experience in inspection & supervision of Welding, Painting / Coating, Piping, Pipelines, Static & Rotating equipment's, NDT, Structural Fabrications and Installations at Onshore & Offshore. Lead onshore and offshore QA/QC activities during fabrication and erection stages.
Manage the Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities in line with (the Company) Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring scopes are clearly defined, executed and closed out in a timely manner.
Actively participate in HSSE activities in accordance with company policies and established standards.
Monitor development and implementation of Quality Assurance programs by the EPC Contractor and its subcontractors and vendors.
Review of vendor documents prior to issue to the customer for approval. Monitoring and coordination for vendor inspections in accordance with procurement process.
Interface coordination with Document Control, Project Management Team, Engineering, Certifying Authority and Customer representative regarding quality concerns and ensure all concerns are addressed and technically resolved.
Experience in preparation and review of ITP, QCP and method statements, review project drawings as per project specifications and requirements.
Experience in preparing and conducting the procedure qualifications (PQR), welding procedure specifications (WPS) & Qualification tests for welders (WQT), GRE Bonders & Crew qualifications, etc.
Extensive experience in various stages of Jacket fabrication as QA/QC Inspector and NDT Coordinator.
Extensive experience in review and verify WQT, PQR, Jacket & topside Installation, Platform Installation, J tube installation, subsea cable laying,
Conduct daily surveillance inspections. Monitor Fit-up, in-process and final inspection of welds. Verify preheat, inter-pass and PWHT requirements as per WPS. Approve/Issue welder ID cards and, ensure proper storage, control & issue of welding consumables.
Detail Inspection of riser welding and riser tie-in, pre and post Installation survey, Identify and report non-conformance.
Witness & interpret various DT methods (tensile, hardness, impact, macro & bend tests) and NDT methods (VT, RT, UT, MPI, PT, RTFI, HT, PMI, etc.). Verify that all inspection and test records are established and maintained in accordance with project quality procedures and applicable codes and standards.
Prepare / Review / Approve pressure test packages. Conduct line walk downs and capture punch points. Witness hydrostatic / pneumatic pressure tests, Flange management, preservation activities and N2/He leak tests.
Executes specific inspections on materials, static & rotating equipment's and installation activities on site. Witnessing equipment installation, alignment and levelling, perform functional checks and mechanical completion checks.
Proficient in handling flooding and Grout systems, sea fastening, onshore and offshore tie-in, handling, transportation, storage & repair of line pipe, beach pull system test, Material & valve inspection.
Conduct quality audits, project quality meetings, lead Quality walk downs and record observations and findings. Issue/clearance of QOC/CAR/NCR & coordination with contractor & subcontractors.
Conduct Reinstatement walk downs, Dossier reviews, Mechanical Completion (MC Walks), Pre - Commissioning & Commissioning walk downs and associated Punch list clearance to release the package for final hand over to the customer.
Reviewed equipment and personnel certifications, Contractor DPR, minutes of safety meetings, Job safety analysis -JSA, , Contractors Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), accident/incident reports, near miss reports, survey reports, as built reports, management of change (MOC) reports, corrective action reports (CAR).. Discussed repair rates and nature of defects with welding supt etc. Job includes monitoring inspectors' field reports, attending daily progress meetings, CAR follow ups, installation monitoring. This project clients are GASCO, ZADCO, ADMA & IOOC. Monitored contractor's safety health implementation and assisted in audit and improvement.
Coating / Painting Inspector
Review of Inspection and Test Plan/Quality Control Procedure for conformance to specifications, codes and standards and identification of Coating inspection requirements. Responsible for blaster/paint applicator qualification/paint system qualifications.
Conduct/attend daily tool box talks (TBT) and ensure correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), proper tools, calibrated instruments and equipment's at site. Follow MSDS instructions and HSSE regulations.
Plan and carry out inspections of blasting and painting / coating activities in accordance with ITP, approved procedures and client specifications. Ensure proper surface preparation of steel structure, proper use of paint coating, compatibility of paints prior to re-coating, classification of environments and carry out destructive and non-destructive tests according to the requirements.
Material receiving inspection for coating/paint materials and ensuring recommended storage conditions and facilities according to the requirements.
Inspection of surface preparation, primer, intermediate and final coats. Monitor / measure relative humidity, dew point, steel surface temperature, air quality requirements, blasted surface profile & degree of cleanliness, salt contamination tests, monitoring paint mixing, induction time & pot life.
Conduct inspections for Fusion Bond Epoxy (FBE) coatings, field joint coating and repairs for three-layer polyolefines - polyethylene and poly propylene (3LPE & 3LPP) pipelines and Elastomer (Neoprene) coating for risers and splash zone structures.
Conduct / Witness PQT for Field Joint Coating (FJC) or Coating Field Repair (CFR) and "infill" moulding compound application as per Manufacture Procedure Specification (MPS) and DNV-RP-F102 for Offshore Pipelines.
Carry out inspections and generate reports for moulding infill applications with mastic (asphalt), PU / PP or rapid setting concrete as per ITP and specifications.
Witness installation of reinforcement mesh, grout sampling, density & compression tests and concrete coating for offshore Concrete Weight Coated (CWC) pipelines as per ITP.
Check WFT, DFT and curing schedules, carry out dolly tests, pull out adhesion tests/peel strength tests for shrink sleeve applications & Pin-hole/Holiday Tests for discontinuity of non-conductive coatings, as per requirements.
Preparation of daily surveillance/inspection reports and painting dossiers.
Ensure that all phases of the project comply with the Company's quality standards and requirements. Establish and carry out project quality audit programs.
Sub-Sea / Offshore Inspections
Offshore Jackets & Deck Installations, Risers and Subsea Pipelines, Hook-ups, Fabrication and Installation of offshore structures and subsea manifolds, structural fabrication & inspections of offshore structures.
Sound knowledge in the jacket installation activities as Client Representative that includes Load-out inspections, Sea-fastening and transportation, material inspection of cargo barge at offshore, Jacket installation comprising pre-installation seabed survey, installation & positioning of jacket, monitoring level checks carried out by the surveyor, Drilling of sockets, Socket Hole callipering & Koden Survey, installation of piles, Grouting, Witnessing Grout sampling and cube crush/compression tests, Welding, NDT, Blasting & Painting, installation of appurtenances like boat landing, conductor protector & riser protector, Monitoring Diving operations & CP surveys, As-built survey, etc.
Strong reporting, presentation and organizational skills and solid understanding of structural inspection, riser and pipeline survey, various NDT inspection techniques.
