Job Scope :
- 500000m2 surface area was blast cleaned and painted by various paint codes, 500 offshore subsea and 300 onshore
underground pipeline/mainline weld joints was wrapped by heat shrink sleeves, 13000 m2 area was fireproofed with vermiculate
material and 1000m2 offshore drilling platform structural was fireproofed with epoxy char material, 45000m2 piping and
62000m2 of oil storage tank surface area was hot insulated by my lead. I carry out following activities:
- Writing Inspection & Test Plan, Method Statement and Procedures for: Subsea Pipeline Coating, Blasting and Painting of
Wellhead Platforms (offshore) and Tank Farm Terminal (onshore) Projects, Insulation, Passive Fire Protection System Coating
for onshore and offshore projects.
- Review Vendors (i.e. Pressure Vessel Manufacturer, Valve Manufacturer…) Painting Specifications & Procedures according to
Project requirements.
- Planning, Supervision, Inspection, monitor and witness the surface preparation and painting application, insulation & pipeline
field joint coating and Passive Fire Protection to verify compliance with the specification & procedure.
- Responsible for the application and implementation of quality system for blasting, painting, color coding/line arrow marking,
fireproofing and insulation works at site.
- Verify surface preparation and coating application thickness as per clients requirement and procedure
- Supervise and co-operate with Client for blasting, painting, PFP, insulation & sub-sea/underground pipeline coating work is carried
out accordance to the client specification, codes practical and procedures.
- Responsible for witnessing, verifying, inspecting and documenting all the Reports, Punch List and Non-Conferment Record (NCR)
prior to hand over to client.
- Ensure inspection documentation is in order and compile as per final documentation index. Carry out routine site quality
surveillance to ensure quality requirement are met and report any quality failure for corrective action.
- Make sure paint storage, mixing, application of paint product in accordance with the manufacturer recommendations. Right
material (mineral wool, cladding and insulation accessories) for insulation is used.
- Perform quality control function in major and minor blasting/painting exercises at work sites. These include the work at various
inspection points as Environment and hazard conditions prior to commencement of any blasting or painting activities, Surface
preparations and cleanliness, Condition of paint components, Solvents and abrasive materials, Expiry date of paints, Correct
mixing of paint components, Wet Film Thickness (WFT) and Dry Film Thickness (DFT) readings and Relative Humidity( RH ),
Adequate curing time and Qualification and Experience of blasters and painters.
- Planning, Supervising and Reporting of Passive Fire Protection ( PFP ) activities.
- Performing of MEK test, Dolly Test for each coating system, Holiday test, Peel test, Chloride contamination test to meet client
requirements
- Filling and arranging Permit to Work (PTW) at construction site prior to start work.
- Responsible to do estimation on painting, insulation and PFP work such as surface area calculation, material consumption, schedule
planning and etc.
- Check and record amount or required paint and insulation material available / stock and expire date
